Replace Old G-Force SL1000 with Tronica®-1500 Sliding Autogate in Damansara
Hi everyone. We were contacted by a customer in Damansara who required repair service for a G-Force SL1000 sliding autogate that had been in use for almost 12 years. According to the customer, the G-Force sliding autogate had completely stopped working. First, the motor was making sound but the gate would not move. Second, the customer was able to push the gate manually without unlocking or releasing the sliding autogate motor. Based on the information provided, we suspected that the sliding autogate motor had already suffered a total breakdown. We informed the customer and recommended upgrading to a Tronica®-1500 AC Sliding Autogate Motor.
However, at the customer’s request, we carried out a full inspection first. If our diagnosis was correct, only then would the new autogate system be installed. We always carry G-Force sliding autogate spare parts and also new Tronica® autogate systems with us for immediate replacement if required.
Upon inspection, we found that the G-Force AC sliding autogate gearbox was damaged, which explained why the gate could be pushed manually the internal gears were already loose. Once a sliding autogate gearbox is broken, it cannot be properly repaired. Even if it could, the repair cost would almost be the same as installing a new autogate system. In this situation, replacing the autogate motor is the better and more practical solution.
Installation of Tronica®-1500 Sliding Autogate & Gate Roller Replacement
Another problem we discovered was that the sliding gate rollers were jammed. The customer also mentioned that the gate was very heavy and difficult to move manually. We strongly advised the customer to replace the sliding gate rollers as well. There is no point in installing a new autogate motor if the rollers are faulty, because the extra resistance and weight will damage the new motor very quickly.
The customer agreed to proceed with:
- Replacement of 4 sliding gate rollers
- Installation of a new Tronica®-1500 Sliding Autogate System
We started by replacing the rollers, then installed the new Tronica®-1500 sliding autogate motor to replace the old G-Force system. After completion, the gate was functioning perfectly and operating much more smoothly than before.
